My Story

As combat athlete, teacher, entrepreneur, and a lifetime martial artist, I set my mind and heart to become the best at what I do and help others do the same. Martial arts has opened my life to endless opportunities and I want to share with the world this amazing treasure. Martial arts is not about fighting, martial arts is about overcoming struggle and challenge. When you learn the true essence of martial arts, everything in life seems easier.

I began my martial arts journey at the age of three in 2000, under my parents, Grandmaster Benny Meng and Sunmi Park-Meng at Meng’s Martial Arts of Dayton, Ohio. I immediately fell in love with the art, after being heavily motivated by the popular television show Power Rangers. With full excitement and dedication, I earned my first black belt, which is also right around the time I began competing. Shortly after I started competing, I had my mind set on becoming a world champion.

After nearly 20 years of dedication, focus and hard work, I won my first world championship at the end of 2017. The following year I was full pursuit and qualified for 4 national teams in 4 separate martial art disciplines and now hold 3 World Titles. I am so grateful and I will be the first to say, this was no one-man job. I couldn't have done it without the amazing people in my life and I want to thank my parents, brothers, family, mentors, coaches, teammates, and friends for making this all possible. I learned what it truly means to become a world champion and I want to help others do the same.
